More than three-quarters of British people struggle with common words and place names, with espresso and prescription among the most difficult to pronounce, according to researchers.
超過(guò)四分之三的英國(guó)民眾會(huì)拿常見(jiàn)單詞或地名沒(méi)轍。研究人員發(fā)現(xiàn)，espresso和prescription便處在最難讀的單詞之列。
A new study has revealed that 82 per cent of British people regularly trip over the words, with women getting most tongue-tied by every day terminology. And place names can be particularly confusing, according to the study commissioned by London railway station St Pancras International.
一項(xiàng)新研究已經(jīng)發(fā)現(xiàn)有82%的英國(guó)人經(jīng)常會(huì)讀錯(cuò)單詞，女生則通常會(huì)在日常生活術(shù)語(yǔ)的讀音上犯難。地名也非常讓人糾結(jié)。這項(xiàng)研究是由倫敦的圣潘克拉斯國(guó)際火車(chē)站操作執(zhí)行的。
